As ever, the University of Armageddon blazes the trail for other, more timid institutions to follow. LAst year, the University headhunted from the private sector and at considerable expense, a professional "income generator". In his first year, the professional "income generator" lost the University £50,000. I understand that he has been bought out of his contract, with appropriate compensation. The University is putting up the charges for student catering and photocopying to compensate. And the School of Genetic Studies has an exciting new research contract to produce a series of New Labour clones to stand for the Scottish Parliament.....
