The Government's 'university challenge' to open up opportunities for 20 towns and cities to bid for the development of new campuses and centres to 'unlock talent' and drive economic regeneration is being launched this year. After consultation a new policy document will be published in January and capital and revenue funding made available to successful applicants.
But such developments raise significant issues and require major long term commitment. So we have invited two senior figures with extensive experience of such initiatives to share in a discussion the most important opportunities and risks such developments present.
Participants are invited to share topics and problems of interest to their institution.
